LED
LEDs (light emitting diodes) are efficient at low power levels so that they use less energy from batteries than a standard lightbulb. LED torches can achieve very long battery lifetimes and are also more resistant to knocks than torches with conventional bulbs. As each LED emits less power, LED torches typically have a cluster of LEDs rather than a single bulb to provide the required brightness. Despite this, in total they consume less power for a given light level and offer longer battery life.
